What the board rank measures

The board rank weights one checked fact - whether the maker proved control of the domain behind the listing - alongside votes and discussion. Everything a product says about itself stays a claim until that proof exists.

Verification is one thing and one thing only: the maker put the RankCert certificate on the domain the listing points at, and RankCert read it directly rather than taking a form submission on faith.

The proof goes stale if it is removed. Every verification carries a last-checked date, and one that cannot be re-confirmed stops counting rather than sitting there as a permanent credential.
