Why verification works this way
Every launch board asks makers to fill in a form and prints the answer. That is fine for surfacing interesting projects and useless as a signal of who is behind a listing - anyone can submit anything about any product, including one they have nothing to do with.
So RankCert checks the one thing that is cheap to prove and hard to fake: control of the domain the listing points at. Put the RankCert certificate on the site. RankCert fetches the page itself rather than taking your word for it.
Nothing about this needs access to your business. There is no OAuth, no read-only connection to your analytics or your payment processor, and nothing to revoke later. The proof lives on your own domain and you can remove it whenever you like.
The part that makes it credible is expiry. Verification is re-checked, and a proof that has disappeared stops counting rather than sitting on the page as a permanent credential. A mark that is never taken away is decoration.

- Do I have to connect any accounts?
- No. Verification is the RankCert certificate on your own domain. RankCert never asks for access to analytics, payments or anything else.
- What happens if I remove the proof?
- The mark drops at the next check. Nothing else changes - your page, your launch week result and your links all stay.
- Does the certificate have to stay visible?
- Yes. It is a visible dofollow link to your listing, and your listing links back to your site. Hide it and the next check fails.
