About
RankCert exists because every claim on every launch board is unchecked, and everyone knows it.
The problem
- "Trusted by 10,000 teams" costs nothing to write and nobody verifies it.
- Upvote boards rank by network size, so the product with the biggest existing audience wins - which is exactly backwards for a first launch.
- A launch-day spike decays in 48 hours and leaves a page nobody has a reason to revisit.
What we do instead
- We check domain control with the RankCert certificate we read ourselves.
- We publish the date we last saw that proof, next to the listing.
- We re-check it. Remove the proof and the verified mark drops.
What we will not do
- Ask for access to your analytics, your payments or your customers.
- Sell a ranking position or the verified mark.
- Hold your link hostage behind a badge requirement.
- Keep a stale claim on the board because it flatters someone.
Who writes this
RankCert is built and written by Sourabh Singh. The guides come out of running the verification checks on this site, so every claim in them is one we depend on ourselves.
If a number on this site is wrong, tell us and we will correct it publicly with a date on the correction.
Why this board works the way it does
The idea came out of a boring observation: on every launch board, the numbers a founder types into the submission form are printed without anyone checking them. A product claiming ten thousand users and a product claiming ten sit next to each other in the same typeface, and the reader has no way to tell them apart. That is not dishonesty on the platforms' part, it is just what happens when the submission form is the only source of truth. The fix is not more moderation, it is reading the numbers from somewhere the maker does not control.
Verification here means one specific thing: we read a proof from the product's own domain, on a date we record. That is the RankCert certificate we fetched from the page. Anything that arrives as a screenshot, a press mention, or a number in a text field is not evidence and does not move the ranking, no matter how plausible it looks.
The honest limits are worth stating too. Verification proves that whoever controls the domain stood behind the listing on the day we looked. It says nothing about whether the product is good, well run, or worth your money, and re-checking cannot catch a company that is about to fail. Treat the mark as a floor on what has been demonstrated, never as a recommendation.
Ranking on evidence also produces an order that will sometimes look wrong to you, and that is the intended behaviour rather than a bug. A quiet verified product can sit above a well-designed one that has proved nothing. If you think a placement is wrong, the ranking inputs are published on every listing, so you can check the arithmetic and tell us which input you disagree with.
Common questions
- Can I pay to rank higher or to get verified faster?
- No. There is no paid placement and no paid verification. Advertising exists and is labelled as advertising, and it never changes a ranking position or the verified mark.
- What happens if I remove the proof after launching?
- The mark drops at the next re-check, and the listing shows the date the proof was last confirmed. Nothing is deleted - the page just stops claiming something we can no longer see.
- What data do you need from me?
- A URL and a proof on that domain. No analytics access, no payment access, nothing about your customers.
