Ranking analytics products on evidence
Analytics products are judged by a stricter standard here than anywhere else on the board, for the obvious reason: a company selling measurement should be able to keep a two-line proof on its own domain. One that cannot is making an argument against itself.
Verification here works as it does everywhere else: the RankCert certificate on the product's own domain, re-checked so the mark reflects what is live now rather than what was true at launch.
The category covers product analytics, web and marketing analytics, session replay and experimentation, data pipelines and warehousing, and the privacy-focused alternatives to the incumbent platforms. They are ranked on the same evidence-weighted score as everything else.
Common questions
- Do analytics products get verified differently?
- No, but the expectation is higher. A measurement product that will not verify its own domain stands out.
- How current is the verified mark?
- It is re-checked. A proof that cannot be re-confirmed stops counting rather than remaining on the page.
