Does FAQ schema still get rich results?
Google restricted FAQ rich results to authoritative government and health sites in 2023. The markup is still worth adding because AI answer engines parse it directly when deciding what to quote.
Can I mark up questions that are hidden?
No. The content must be visible on the page. Marking up hidden or accordion-only-after-JS content risks a structured data manual action.
How many questions should I include?
Four to six, each answering a real question people ask. Padding with invented questions dilutes the page and helps nothing.
Where should the script go?
Anywhere in the document - head or body both work. Keeping it in the head next to your other JSON-LD is easier to maintain.
Is FAQ schema still worth adding?
For rich results, only if you are a government or health authority. For everything else it is worth adding because it gives crawlers and language models unambiguous question-answer pairs to lift, which matters more each year.
Can two pages carry the same FAQ block?
They can, but duplicating the same questions site-wide dilutes the value and looks templated. Write questions specific to each page.
Does FAQPage conflict with other schema types?
No. A page can carry Article, BreadcrumbList and FAQPage simultaneously in one @graph or as separate script blocks.
How long should each answer be?
One to three sentences that fully answer the question. An answer that ends in read more is not an answer and gets ignored.
