Ployz

About
Ployz gives teams a cloud dashboard that runs on servers you rent. Push to GitHub and it automatically builds and deploys across multiple servers, creating preview environments for every pull request. One‑click databases for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB are available, and no Dockerfile is required unless you want one. With a simple UI and no Kubernetes, Ployz keeps hosting costs low and gives you full control over your infrastructure.
The case
Who it is for
A solo developer or small startup founder who wants to run their own cloud dashboard on rented servers.
What is broken today
Developers and small teams often rely on hosted platforms like Railway, Vercel, Render, or Heroku to deploy applications. These services charge high monthly fees, especially for database usage, and impose strict limits on server count and configuration. Users must also manage Kubernetes or other control planes, add complex networking rules, and cannot easily migrate or scale their infrastructure without incurring additional costs or downtime.
What it does about it
Ployz installs an agent on each server you own. When you push code to GitHub, the agent builds the application (detecting the framework automatically) and deploys it to the chosen server or servers. It creates a dedicated preview environment for every pull request, provisions one‑click databases, and manages private networking and SSL between services. The dashboard, hosted on Ployz Cloud, gives you a unified view of all projects, logs, and metrics while the actual workloads run on your hardware.
Why not the obvious alternative
Unlike hosted platforms that charge for compute and require Kubernetes, Ployz runs on your own servers with no per‑server fees. Adding or removing a server is as simple as running a single command with the agent, and databases move with the server automatically. Preview environments are created for every PR without extra configuration, and the entire stack—including workers, queues, cron jobs, and self‑hosted Sentry—runs in one place with private, SSL‑encrypted connections.

Questions
- What is the pricing model for Ployz?
- Ployz is free on your own servers with unlimited servers, projects, preview environments, and custom domains. There are no per‑server fees. Upcoming Hobby and Pro plans will add log retention and team features.
- Do I need Docker to deploy my application?
- No. Ployz automatically detects the language and framework and builds the application without a Dockerfile unless you explicitly provide one.
- How do I add a new server to my Ployz deployment?
- Run the agent command: `ployz server add root@<ip>` to register the server, then `ployz service add <service> --repo <repo>` to deploy a service to it.
- Can I use preview environments for pull requests?
- Yes. Every pull request automatically gets its own preview environment, which shares the same stack as production and is accessible via a unique subdomain.
