A name picker wheel chooses one name from your list at random, with every name equally likely. With 25 students each has a 4% chance on every spin. Paste the names one per line, spin, and keep spinning for more picks - the tally below the wheel shows how often each name has come up.

Frequently asked questions

Is the name picker fair?

Yes. Every name gets the same number of slices and the winner is chosen at random before the wheel moves, so each name has the same chance on every spin.

How do I stop the same name being picked twice?

Delete the winner's line before the next spin. The wheel redraws with the names that are left.

Can I use it to pick a giveaway winner?

For an informal giveaway, yes. For prizes with legal weight, use a draw service that publishes its random seed so entrants can verify it.

How many names can I add?

Up to 40 on the wheel. For bigger lists, use the random group generator or random number generator instead.

Are the names stored?

No. Everything runs in your browser and no names are uploaded or saved.
