SpotKat
free cat register with a lost-cat network
About
SpotKat is a free app that helps pet owners find missing cats. Owners register their cats and neighbors can upload photos of sightings. The app matches photos to registered cats, showing which one might be yours. It relies on community participation to speed up reunions.
The case
Who it is for
Cat owners who have lost a pet and want a community-based solution to locate them.
What is broken today
When a cat goes missing, owners often struggle to find it because there is no centralized system for sightings and photos.
What it does about it
SpotKat lets owners register their cats and encourages neighbors to upload photos of cats they see. The app matches these photos to registered cats and alerts owners if a match is found.
Why not the obvious alternative
Unlike generic pet registries, SpotKat uses a local community photo network that actively gathers sightings, speeding up identification and reunions.
